This exhibition is a collection of words and images about
reconciliation. The words were gathered by curator Wayne Coolwell who
utilised his extensive experience as a journalist to elicit heartfelt
responses from a diverse range of Queenslanders. Complementing these
personal statements are striking photographs by Suzanna Clarke which
reveal the essence of the people who gave them.
It is an exhibition that will open
our hearts and minds and is a strong reminder that reconciliation is
a subject for all Australians.
Curated by Wayne Coolwell, former ABC journalist and reconciliation
activist, A gift of presence speaks volumes, and dares to share personal
views that are capable of generating further healing debate.
Photographer Suzanna Clarke has captured the spirit of
these people in magnificent black-and-white images that complement their
statements to perfection.
